Getting Started with Paligo

Inserting an Image

  1. Place your cursor where you want to add an image, e.g inside a step element or after a para.

Click the image icon in the toolbar (under the Insert tab), and select the type of image you want in the drop down menu:

    • Figure - if you want an automatic labelled title ("Figure 2: Some title"). This will be output when publishing, you don't need to type it.

    • Image (without title) - this adds an image in a mediaobject element. This is just a plain image, and is the most common e.g for illustrating a step in an instruction. Note however, that you can add a caption element in a mediaobject as well.

    • Inline image - if you are inside a paragraph you should use the Inline image option. This creates a so called inlinemediaobject element which flows inline with the text, suitable for icons and similar small images.

    Note

The same options and more are available also through the Element context menu. This will only insert the element however, and then you need to select the image by clicking on the placeholder, or using the Image browser to the right.

If you need an image that can hold some more information, such as a title/caption, a description, a callout list/legend, you have the options figure or informalfigure. The main difference between figure and informalfigure is that the former must have a title.

  2. In the dialog that opens, browse or search for the image in your Media library.

    Note

If you haven't uploaded the image in Paligo yet, you can do so in the Image browser to the right in the Editor, or by opening the Content Manager side bar.

  3. Insert the image by clicking it.

  4. Save the topic.
